unitupright,removethehairpincottersecuring
thecableend,andremovethecablefromthe
pin.
2.Pivot(tilt)thecuttingunitdownward.
3.Storethecableundertheoperator'splatform.
4.Sitontheseat,starttheengine,andlowerthe
cuttingunituntilitisslightlyofftheoor.
5.Shutofftheengine,waitforallpartstostop
moving,andremovethekey.
6.Securetheheight-of-cutchainstotherearof
thecuttingunit.
7.Pivotthetransportlatchupwardintoposition
andsecureitwiththeclevispinandcotterpin.

MeasuringtheCuttingUnitPitch
Cuttingunitpitchisthedifferenceinheightofcutfrom
thefrontofthebladeplanetothebackoftheblade
plane.T ororecommendsabladepitchof8to11mm
(5/16to7/16inch).Thatisthebackofthebladeplane
is8to11mm(5/16to7/16inch)higherthanthefront.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurfaceonthe
shopoor.
2.Setthecuttingunittothedesiredheightofcut.
3.Rotateabladetopointstraightforward.
4.Usingashortruler,measurefromtheoorto
thefronttipoftheblade.
5.Rotatethebladetiptotherearandmeasure
fromtheoortothetipoftheblade.
6.Subtractthefrontdimensionfromtherear
dimensiontocalculatethebladepitch.

1.Loosenthejamnutsatthetoporbottomofthe
height-of-cutchainU-bolt(Figure83).
2.Adjusttheothersetofnutstoraiseorlowerthe
rearofthecuttingunitandattainthecorrect
mower-deckpitch.
3.Tightenthejamnuts.
