TestingtheTractionReverseSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,andshutoff
theengine.
2.Locateanddisconnecttheswitchconnectorfromthemachinewireharness
(Figure128).
3.Connectamultimeter(ohmssetting)acrosstheswitchconnectorterminals
tocheckthecontinuityoftheswitchasfollows:
A.Whentheswitchplungerisextended,thereshouldbecontinuitybetween
theswitchterminals.
B.Whentheswitchplungerispressed,thereshouldnotbecontinuity
betweentheswitchterminals.
4.Replacetheswitchiftestingdeterminesthattheswitchisdamaged.
5.Ifthereverseswitchtestingiscorrectandacircuitproblemstillexists,check
themainwireharness;refertotheElectricalSchematicsandWireHarness
Drawings/DiagramsinAppendixA(pageA–1).
6.Afteryoucompletethereverseswitchtesting,connecttheswitchconnector
tothemachinewireharness.
