Thekeyswitchhas4positions:OFF,LIGHTSON,ON/PREHEAT,andSTART
(Figure107).
WhenthekeyswitchisturnedfromOFFpositiontoLIGHTSONposition,the
worklightsilluminate.
Thekeyswitchisaninputusedbyelectroniccontrolunittomanagevarious
machinefunctions.
TestingtheKeySwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
3.Removethesteeringcolumncoversandgetaccesstorearofthekeyswitch;
refertoDisassemblingtheBodyAssembly(page7–6).
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromthekeyswitchandremovethe
keyswitchfromthesteeringcolumncover.
