10.Turnthewheelhubbyhandinbothdirectionsrelative
tothecaliper.
Note:Thewheelhubshouldmovefreelybetween
thecaliper.
11.Ifagapisneededorthewheelhubdoesnotmove
freely:
A.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
B.Disconnectandne-tunetherearlinkage
assembly:
Shortenthelinktocreateagap.
Lengthenthelinktoallowwheelhub
movement.
C.Connecttherear-linkageassembly.
12.Engagetheparkingbrakeandcheckthegap.
13.Repeatsteps9through13untilyouachieveavisible
gapandthewheelhubrotatesfreely.
14.Repeatthisprocedureforthebrakeontheopposite
side.
15.Rotatethedrive-wheelreleasehandletotheoperating
position;refertoUsingtheDrive-WheelReleaseValves
(page30).
16.Installthereartiresandtorquethelugnuts;referto
CheckingtheWheelLugNuts(page49).
17.Removethejackstands.
BeltMaintenance
InspectingtheBelts
ServiceInterval:Every50hours
Replacethebeltifitisworn.Thesignsofawornbeltinclude
squealingwhilethebeltisrotating;thebladesslippingwhile
cuttinggrass;andfrayededges,burnmarks,andcrackson
thebelt.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt
Important:Thefastenersonthecoversofthismachine
aredesignedtoremainonthecoverafterremoval.
Loosenallofthefastenersoneachcoverafewturns
sothatthecoverisloosebutstillattached,thengo
backandloosenthemuntilthecovercomesfree.This
preventsyoufromaccidentallystrippingtheboltsfree
oftheretainers.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-controlleversto
theNEUTRAL-LOCKpositionandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Lowerthemowertothe76mm(3inch)heightofcut.
4.Loosenthebottomboltholdingthemower-deck
curtaintothemowerdeck.RefertoReleasingthe
Mower-DeckCurtain(page36).
5.Removethesheet-metalguard.RefertoRemovingthe
Sheet-MetalGuard(page36)
6.Removethebeltcoversandtheboltsattachedtothem
(Figure85).
