13.Ifthedeckistoolow ,tightenthesingle-point
adjustmentboltbyrotatingitclockwise.Ifthedeckis
toohigh,loosenthesinglepointadjustmentboltby
rotatingitcounterclockwise(Figure93).
Note:Loosenortightenthesingle-pointadjustment
boltenoughtomovetheheight-of-cutplatemounting
boltsatleast1/3thelengthoftheavailabletravelin
theirslots.Thiswillgainsomeupanddownadjustment
oneachofthe4decklinks.
14.Tightenthe2boltsatthebottomoftheheight-of-cut
plate(Figure93).
Note:Inmostconditions,thebackbladetipshould
beadjusted6.4mm(1/4inch)higherthanthefront.

Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keepthebladessharp.For
convenientsharpeningandreplacement,keepextrablades
onhand.
WARNING
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownatyouorbystanders,
resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Inspectthebladesperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe
Blades
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,Disengagethe
blade-controlswitch(PTO),andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Turntheignitionkeytooff.Removethekey,and
disconnectthesparkplugwiresfromthesparkplugs.
InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure94).
2.Iftheedgesarenotsharporhavenicks,removeand
sharpentheblade;refertoRemovingtheBlades(page
65)andSharpeningtheBlades(page65).
3.Inspecttheblades,especiallyinthecurvedarea.
4.Ifyounoticeanycracks,wear,oraslotforminginthis
area,immediatelyinstallanewblade(Figure94).
