Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,lockoutthe
spring-loadeddeckarms.
WARNING
Deck-lift-armassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthestored
energycancauseseriousinjuryordeath.
Donotattempttodisassemblethedeckfromthe
frontframewithoutlockingoutthestoredenergy.
1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallofthemovingpartsto
stop,removethekey,andengageparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheight-adjustmentpinandlowerthedeck
totheground.
3.Placetheheight-adjustmentpininthe7.6cm(3inch)
height-of-cutlocation.
Note:Thislocksthedeck-liftarmsinthelowest
positionsothatwhenyouremovethedeck,thestored
energyinthedeckspringisreleased.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Lifttheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothesquare
holeinthedeckidler(Figure100).
6.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethemower
belt(Figure100).
