Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,the
spring-loadeddeckarmsmustbelockedout.

Deckliftarmassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthestored
energycancauseseriousinjuryordeath.
Donotattempttodisassemblethedeckfromthe
frontframewithoutlockingoutthestoredenergy.
1.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethekey.Engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheight-adjustmentpinandlowerthedeck
totheground.
3.Placetheheight-adjustmentpininthe7.6cm(3inch)
cutting-heightlocation.Thislocksthedeckliftarmsin
thelowestpositionwhenthedeckisremovedandthe
storedenergyinthedeckspringisreleased.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Liftuptheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothesquare
holeinthedeckidler(Figure96).
6.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethemower
belt(Figure96).
