1.Installthebladeontothespindleshaft(Figure101).
Important:Thecurvedpartoftheblademust
pointupwardtowardtheinsideofthemowerto
ensurepropercutting.
2.Installthespringdiskandbladebolt(Figure101).
Note:Installthespring-diskconetowardthebolt
head.
3.Torquethebladeboltto115to150N∙m(85to110
ft-lb).

RemovingtheMowerDeck
Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,lockoutthe
spring-loadeddeckarms.
WARNING
Deck-lift-armassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthestored
energycancauseseriousinjuryordeath.
Donotattempttodisassemblethedeckfromthe
frontframewithoutlockingoutthestoredenergy.
1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallofthemovingpartsto
stop,removethekey,andengageparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheight-adjustmentpinandlowerthedeck
totheground.
3.Placetheheight-adjustmentpininthe7.6cm(3inch)
height-of-cutlocation.
Note:Thislocksthedeck-liftarmsinthelowest
positionsothatwhenyouremovethedeck,thestored
energyinthedeckspringisreleased.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Lifttheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothesquare
holeinthedeckidler(Figure102).
6.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethemower
belt(Figure102).
