Maintenance Safety
WARNING
Modifying the original machine, parts, and/or accessories may alter the warranty,
controllability, and safety of the machine. Making unauthorized modifications to the
original machine and/or not using genuine Toro parts could lead to serious injury or
death.
Do not make unauthorized modifications to the machine, parts, and/or
accessories.
Use only genuine Toro parts.
Before adjusting, cleaning, servicing, or leaving the machine, do the following:
Park the machine on a level surface.
Disengage the drives and the power take-off.
Engage the parking brake.
Shut off the machine and remove the key.
Wait for all moving parts to stop.
Allow machine components to cool.
Carefully release pressure from components with stored energy.
Check the parking brake operation frequently. Service the brake as needed.
Never tamper with safety devices. Check their proper operation regularly.
Do not rely solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks to support the machine; support the
machine with jack stands whenever you raise the machine.
Use care when checking the blades. Wrap the blades or wear gloves, and use caution
when servicing the blades. Only replace or sharpen the blades; never straighten or weld
them.
On multi-bladed machines, take care as rotating one blade can cause other blades to
rotate.
Keep your hands and feet away from hot surfaces.
Keep all hardware tightened, especially the blade-attachment hardware.
