InstallingtheBrakeCable
1.Securethebrakecable(9)tothebrakeleverassemblyasfollows:
A.Installthecablespring(7)tothespringanchoronthebrakelever
assembly(3).
B.Slidethebrakecableintotheshiftmountbracketslot.Ensurethatthejam
nut(8),atwasherandlockwasherarebothsidesofthebracket.Adjust
thejamnutssothatequalamountofcablethreadsarevisibleaboveand
belowjamnuts.Leavejamnutssnuguntilnalcableadjustment.
2.Routethebrakecable(9)tothetransmissiongearboxassemblyandinstall
thebrakecabletothetransmissiongearboxassemblyasfollows:
A.Installthebrakecableeyelet(2)ontothebrakelever(3)ontransmission
gearboxassemblyandsecurewithasnapring(1).
B.Positionthebrakecable(5)tothecastingslotofthetransmissiongear
boxassemblywithajamnut(4),atwasherandlockwasheroneach
sideoftheslot.Adjustandtightenthejamnutssothatequalamountof
cablethreadsarevisibleaboveandbelowjamnuts.
3.Makenaladjustmentofthebrakecableatthebrakecableleverassembly.
Adjustthecablejamnutstoremovetheslackinthebrakecable.
4.Checkthebrakecableadjustment;refertoOperator’sManual.
5.Installthelowercoverandcontrolcovertothehandleassembly.
6.Attachthesparkplugwiretotheenginesparkplug.
