1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.EnsurethattheengineisOFFand
thetractioncontrolisinNEUTRAL.
2.Removethesparkplugwirefromtheenginesparkplug.
3.Removethe4boltsthatsecuresthecontrolscovertothehandleassembly.
Removethecontrolscoverfromthehandleassembly.
4.Removethe4boltsthatsecuresthelowerhandlecovertothehandle
assembly.Removethelowerhandlecover.
5.Removethewireharnessfrombottomcontrolcover.
6.Removethe2nuts(7)and4bolts(25and33)thatsecuresthebottom
controlscover(26)totheupperreceiverweldment(8).Removethebottom
controlscoverfromtheupperreceiverweldment.
7.Removethethrottlecable;refertoRemovingtheThrottleCable(page7–3).
8.Removetheclutchcable;refertoRemovingtheClutchCable(page7–9).
9.Removethebrakecable;refertoRemovingtheBrakeCable(page7–6).
10.Removethereelcable;refertoRemovingtheReelCable(page7–11).
11.Removetheclutchandreeldriveleverassembly;refertoDisassemblingthe
ClutchandReelDriveEngagementLeverAssembly(page7–14).
12.Removethebrakelatchshaft;refertoDisassemblingtheBrakeLatchShaft
(page7–16).
13.Removetheangenut(7)andbolt(38)fromtheupperreceiverweldment(8)
whichactsasathrottlearmstopbolt.
14.Removethenut(37),bolt(30)andcompressionspring(31)thatsecures
thethrottlearm(36)tothehandleassembly(3).Removethethrottlearm
fromthehandleassembly.
15.Ifnecessary,removethescrew(32)thatsecuresthethrottlelever(34)tothe
throttlearm(36).Slideandremovethethrottleleverfromthethrottlearm.
16.Ifnecessary,removetheangebushings(35)fromthethrottlearm(36).
17.Disconnectthewireharness.
18.RemovetheengineON/OFFswitchfromthehandleassembly.
19.Remove4plastitescrews(1)thatsecuresthehandlenotepadplate(2)to
thehandleassembly(3).Removethehandlenotepadplatefromthehandle
assembly.
20.Removetheangenut(7)andshoulderscrew(4)thatsecuresthebrake
lever(6)totheupperreceiverweldment(8).Removethebrakeleverfrom
theupperreceiverweldment.
21.Ifnecessary,removetheangebushings(5),angenut(13)andbolt(12)
fromthebrakelever(6).
22.Removethe2bolts(11and16)thatsecurestheliftassisthandle(27)tothe
upperreceiverweldment(8).
23.Removetheconduitclampinupperreceiverandreleasethewireharness.
24.Removethenut(9)andbolt(29)thatsecurestheupperreceiverweldment
(8)tothelowerhandle(19).Slideandremovetheupperreceiverweldment
fromthelowerhandleassembly.
25.Removethenut(15)andbolt(21)thatsecuresthehandleadjusterassembly
(22)totheupperreceiverweldment(8).Removethehandleadjuster
assemblyfromtheupperreceiverweldmentandseparatehandletorsion
spring(23)andspringspacer(24)fromthehandleadjusterassembly(22).
