2.Slidethebearingsandsealsfromthereelshaft.Discardthesealsand
inspectthereelbearingstoinsurethattheyspinfreelyandhaveaminimal
amountofaxialplay.
3.Inspectthereelasfollows:
A.PlacethereelshaftendsinV-blocksandcheckthereelshaftfor
distortion.
B.Checkthethreadsintheendsofthereelshaft.
C.Checkthereelbladesforbendingorcracking.
D.Checktheservicelimitofthereeldiameter;refertoPreparingtheReel
forGrinding(page8–20).
4.Replacethereelifdamageisevident.
IMPORTANT
Thesealmustbeinstalledwiththeockedside(red)oftheseal
towardthebearing.
5.Slidethenewockedsealsandthebearingsontothereelshaftuntilthey
contacttheshoulderofthereelshaft.
