1.Ifremoved,installthemufer(2)ontotheengine(14)andsecurewiththe2
bolts(1).
2.Torquetightenthebolts(1)from4to5.6N∙m(35to50in-lb).
3.Positiontheengine(14)ontotheenginebase(5)andengineoutputshaftin
thebellhousingandexternalclutchhub.
4.Securetheengine(14)ontothebellhousingwiththe4bolts(8)and4
washers(9).Inanalternatingcrosspattern,torquetightenthebolts(8)from
10to11.3N∙m(90to100in-lb).
5.Securetheengine(14)totheenginebase(5)withthe4carriagebolts(6),4
washers(4)and4nuts(3).
6.Applytheanti-seizelubricanttotheengineshaftkey.
7.Installtheclutchhubclamp(10)ontotheexternalclutchhubandmakesure
thattheclutchhubclampintegralkeyisalignedtotheengineshaftkeyway.
Securetheclutchhubclamp(10)withthe2bolts(15)and2nuts(11).
8.Torquetightenthebolts(15)from10to12.4N∙m(90to110in-lb).
9.Installtheclutchcover(12)ontothebellhousingandsecurewiththe2bolts
(13).T orquetightenthebolts(13)from6.7to9N∙m(60to80in-lb).
10.Connecttheelectricalconnectionstotheengine:
A.Applydielectricgeltowireharnessconnectors.
B.Connectthewireharnessconnectorstotheenginearmaturewire(item
1inFigure15).
C.Connectthewireharnessgroundwire(3)totheenginebyinstallingthe
LHrearcapscrew,atwasherandaangenut.
D.Applyacoatofdielectricgreasetothewireharnessgroundterminal
topreventcorrosion.
E.Ifthemachineisequippedwithoptionallightingkit,connectthewire
harnessconnectorstotheenginealternatorwires.
11.Connectthethrottlecable(item2inFigure14)totheengine:
A.Slidethethrottlecableendintothegovernorlever(1).
B.Placethrottlecable(2)underthecableclamp(3)andsecurewithascrew.
C.Adjustthethrottlecable;refertoThrottleCableAdjustment(page4–4).
Ensurethatallfastenersaretightenedafterthecableadjustment.
12.Checkandadjusttheengineoillevelasneeded;refertoOperator’sManual.
13.Attachthesparkplugwiretothesparkplug.Openthefuelshut-offvalve
onthefueltank.
14.Starttheengineandallowittowarmtooperatingtemperature.Checkhigh
andlowidlespeedsandadjustifnecessary.
