speed.Movingthethrottleleverforwardtowardthe
FASTpositionincreasestheenginespeed.Moving
itrearwardtowardtheSLOWpositiondecreasesthe
enginespeed.Thethrottlecontrolsthespeedofthe
PTOand,withthetractionpedal,controlstheground
speedofthemachine.Alwaysrunthemachine
withthethrottleintheFASTpositionwhenoperating
attachments.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure7)recordsthenumberof
hoursthattheenginehasoperated.Itoperateswhen
thekeyswitchisintheRUNposition.Usethesetimes
forschedulingregularmaintenance.
Engine-Coolant-Temperature-Warning
Light
Thislightglowsandtheattachmentstopsifthe
temperatureoftheenginecoolantishigh(Figure
7).Ifyoudonotstopthemachineandthecoolant
temperaturerisesanother7°C(20°F),theengine
shutsoff.
Important:Iftheattachmentshutsdownand
thetemperaturewarninglightison,pushthe
PTOknobdown,drivethemachinetoasafe,at
area,movethethrottlelevertotheSLOWposition,
allowthetractionpedaltomovetotheNEUTRAL
position,andengagetheparkingbrake.Allowthe
enginetoidleforseveralminuteswhileitcoolsto
asafelevel.Shutofftheengineandcheckthe
coolingsystem;refertoCheckingtheCooling
System(page46).
