serviced,etc.)
1.Performthepre-maintenanceprocedure;refer
toCheckingtheTirePressure(page45)and
ensurethatthefueltankisatleasthalffull.
2.Openthehoodandsecureitwiththeproprod.
3.Opentheair-bleedscrewonthefuel-injection
pump(Figure35)witha12mmwrench.

4.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheON
position.Theelectricfuelpumpwillbegin
operation,therebyforcingairoutaroundtheair
bleedscrew.LeavethekeyintheONposition
untilasolidstreamoffuelowsoutaroundthe
screw.
5.TightenthescrewandturnthekeytotheOFF
position.
Note:Theengineshouldstartafteryouperformthis
procedure.However,ifenginedoesnotstart,airmay
betrappedbetweeninjectionpumpandtheinjectors;
refertoBleedingAirfromtheFuelInjectors(page40).
