Thismachineisequippedwith2tractionspeed
ranges;lowandhigh.Thespeedrangeswitchallows
youtoselectthefollowingpositions(Figure27):
•High/LowAutorange:
SelectingtheH/LAUTOpositionallowsthe
machinetoautomaticallyselectbetweenthelow
andhighspeedranges.TheH/LAUTOpositionis
comparabletoselectingD(drive)inyourcarwith
anautomatictransmission.
Note:T opreventpotentialturfdamage,the
machinewillonlyshiftbetweenlowandhighrange
whenthetractionpedalisinNEUTRALposition
andthewheelshavestoppedmoving.
Note:Thecuttingunitscannotbeloweredfrom
thetransportpositionwhileyoudrivethemachine
inthehighspeedrange.
–WhenH/LAUTOpositionisselectedandthe
cuttingunitsareloweredformowing,thespeed
rangeislimitedtothelowspeedrange.
–Togettohighspeedrange,selecttheH/L
AUTOpositiononthespeedrangeswitch,
disengagethePTO,andfullyraisethecutting
units.
–WhenH/LAUTOpositionisselected,the
machinewillautomaticallyswitchbetweenhigh
andlowtractionrangesbasedontheposition
ofthecuttingunitsand/orthepositionofthe
PTOswitch.
•Lowrange:
SelectingtheLOWpositionontheswitchkeepsthe
machineinthelowspeedrangeatalltimes.The
LOWpositioniscomparabletoselecting2,1ORL
inyourcarwithanautomatictransmission.
–WhentheLOWpositionisselected,the
machineonlyoperatesinlowrange.
–UsetheLOWpositionwhenloadingthe
machineonatrailerornavigatingtightareas
likeashop.

UsingtheTractionPedal
Thispedalcontrolstheforwardandreversespeed
ofthemachineandthedynamicbrakingwhenyou
returnittoneutral.
•Thetractionpedalisanautomotive-style
throttle—theenginespeedandthemachinespeed
respondtothepedalmovement.
•Whiletransporting,thetractionpedalwilloperate
similartoacarandchangetheengineandtraction
speeddependentonthetractionpedalposition.
•Whilemowing,theengineautomaticallyraisesto
highidletooptimizemowingperformance,andthe
tractionpedalonlycontrolstractionspeed.
•Thefurtheryoupushthepedalforwardorreverse,
thefasterthemachinemoves.
•Tocontrolthemachinetoasmoothstopwhile
transportingormowing,useyourfoottoreturnthe
tractionpedaltoneutralatyourdesiredrate.
•Toengagemaximumbraking,removeyourfoot
fromthetractionpedal,allowingittoreturnto
neutral.Themachinedynamicallybrakestoa
stop.
Thistractionsystemallowsyoutocustomizethe
accelerationsettingsforoperatorcomfortandcourse
