Important:Allowtheenginetoidlefor5minutes
beforeshuttingitoffafterafull-loadoperation.
Thisallowstheturbochargertocooldownbefore
shuttingofftheengine.Failuretodosomaylead
toprematureturbochargerfailure.
Note:Lowerthecuttingunitstothegroundwhenever
themachineisparked.Thisrelievesthehydraulicload
fromthesystem,preventswearonsystempartsand
alsopreventsaccidentalloweringofthecuttingunits.
1.MovethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake.
3.RotatetheignitionkeytotheOFFposition.
4.Removethekeytopreventaccidentalstarting.

Note:Cuttinggrassataratethatloadstheengine
promotesDPFregeneration.
1.Disengagethebrake,disengagethePTO,and
raisethecuttingunits.
2.SelecttheH/LAUTOorLOWpositionwiththe
speedrangeswitch.RefertoUsingtheHigh
andLowSpeedRangeSwitch.
Note:WhentheH/LAUTOpositionisselected
andthecuttingunitsareraised,themachinewill
automaticallyselectthehighspeedrange.
3.Usingthetractionpedallikeanaccelerator
pedalonacar,drivethemachinetothejobsite.
4.Alignthemachineoutsidethecuttingareafor
therstcuttingpass.
5.Lowerthecuttingunitswiththerockerswitch
orswitches.
6.Taptheliftswitch(GM4500)ormiddle-liftswitch
(GM4700)rearwardtoliftthecuttingunitstothe
turnaroundposition.
Note:Theturnaroundpositionisonlyavailable
ifitisactivatedundertheprotectedmenusinthe
InfoCenter.T appingtherockerswitchwithout
holdingitraisesthecuttingunitstotheturn
aroundpositionandstopstherotationofthe
bladesuntilthecuttingunitsarelowered.
7.PullthePTOswitchtoengagethecuttingunits.
Note:Theenginespeedautomaticallyrisesto
highidlewhenyoulowerthecuttingunitsand
activatethePTOswitch.
8.Usingthetractionpedal,approachthemowing
areaslowlyandlowerthecuttingunitswiththe
rockerswitchoncethefrontcuttingunitsare
overthemowingarea.
Note:Practicetoensurethecuttingunitsdo
notlowerearlyormowanunintendedarea.
9.Beginmowingthearea.
10.Whenyoucompletethemowingpass,tapthelift
switch(GM4500)ormiddle-liftswitch(GM4700)
rearwardtoliftthecuttingunitstotheturn
aroundposition.
11.Performatear-shapedturntoquicklylineupfor
yournextpass.
12.Presstheliftswitch(GM4500)ormiddle-lift
switch(GM4700)downtoautomaticallylower
thecuttingunitsfromtheturnaroundposition
andcontinuemowing.
