Why won't my Toro power max 828 OE start?

  Several factors can prevent your Toro Snow thrower from starting. Ensure the key is in the ignition and turned to the On position. Check that the choke is in the On position and the primer has been pressed 3 times. Also, verify the fuel shutoff valve is open and the throttle is in the Fast position. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel; drain and refill with fresh gasoline (less than 30 days old). Make sure the spark plug wire is securely connected, and inspect the spark plug for damage or incorrect gap. Finally, ensure the fuel vent cap isn't restricted and that the engine oil level is correct.

  If your Toro Snow thrower's engine runs but isn't discharging snow well, first ensure the throttle is in the Fast position. If that doesn't solve the issue, try shifting to a lower gear, as you might be moving too fast. Reduce the amount of snow you're trying to clear per pass. Avoid trying to remove extremely heavy, wet snow. Check for and clear any blockage in the discharge chute. If these steps don't help, the auger/impeller drive belt might be loose or off the pulley.

  If your Toro Snow thrower is running rough, first ensure the choke is in the Off position. Check that the fuel shutoff valve is fully open. If the fuel tank is nearly empty or contains stale fuel, drain it and refill with fresh gasoline (not more than 30 days old). Also, make sure the spark plug wire is securely connected. Inspect the spark plug for pitting, fouling, or an incorrect gap, and adjust or replace it as needed. Finally, verify that the engine oil level in the crankcase is at the Full mark on the dipstick; add or drain oil as necessary.
