RemovingtheFuelEvaporativeControlSystem
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingunits,stopengine,engage
parkingbrakeandremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Raiseandsupporthood.
DANGER
Gasolineisammable.Usecautionwhenstoringorhandlingit.Do
notsmokewhilellingthefueltank.Donotllfueltankwhileengine
isrunningorinanenclosedarea.Alwaysllfueltankoutsideand
wipeupanyspilledfuelbeforestartingtheengine.Storefuelina
clean,safety-approvedcontainerandkeepthecapinplace.Use
gasolinefortheengineonly;notforanyotherpurpose.
3.Inspectcarboncannisterandattachedhosesfordamageorobviousleaks.A
damagedorleakingcannistershouldbereplaced.
4.Removefuelevaporativecontrolsystemcomponentsasnecessary(Figure
48).
