Switches
Thepurposeoftheinterlockswitchesistopreventthe
enginefromcrankingorstartingunlessthetraction
pedalisintheNEUTRALposition,theEnable/Disable
switchisintheDISABLEposition,andtheLower
Mow/RaisecontrolisintheNEUTRALposition.In
addition,theengineshouldshutoffwhenyoupress
thetractionpedalwhileyouareofftheseatorifyou
leavetheparkingbrakeengaged.
CAUTION
Ifsafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnected
ordamagedthemachinecouldoperate
unexpectedlycausingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
VerifyingtheInterlockSwitch
Function
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,shutofftheengine,andengage
theparkingbrake.
2.TurnthekeyswitchtotheONposition,butdo
notstartthemachine.
3.Locatetheappropriateswitchfunctioninthe
diagnosticsmenuontheInfoCenter.
4.Individually,changeeachoftheswitchesfrom
opentoclosed(i.e.,sitonseat,engagetraction
pedal,etc.),andnotethattheappropriate
stateoftheswitchchanges.Repeatthisforall
switchesthatyoucanchangebyhand.
5.Ifaswitchisclosedandtheappropriate
indicatordoesnotchange,checkallwiring
andconnectionstotheswitchand/orcheck
theswitcheswithanohmmeter.Replaceany
defectiveswitchesandrepairanydefective
wiring.
Note:TheInfoCenterdisplayalsohastheabilityto
detectwhichoutputsolenoidsorrelaysareturned
on.Thisisaquickwaytodetermineifamachine
malfunctioniselectricalorhydraulic.
VerifyingOutputFunction
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,shutofftheengine,andengage
theparkingbrake.
2.TurnthekeyswitchtotheONpositionandstart
themachine.
3.Locatetheappropriateoutputfunctioninthe
diagnosticsmenuontheInfoCenter.
4.Sitontheseatandattempttooperatethe
desiredfunctionofthemachine.Theappropriate
outputsshouldchangestatetoindicatethatthe
ECMisturningonthatfunction.
Note:Ifthecorrectoutputsdonotilluminate,verify
thattherequiredinputswitchesareinthenecessary
positionstoallowthatfunctiontooccur.Verifycorrect
switchfunction.
Iftheoutputdisplaysareonasspecied,butthe
machinedoesnotfunctionproperly,thisindicatesa
non-electricalproblem.Repairasnecessary.

operatingupanddownslopesatdifferentspeeds.
UnderstandingtheWarning
System
Ifawarninglightcomesonduringoperation,stopthe
machineimmediatelyandcorrecttheproblembefore
continuingoperation.Seriousdamagecouldoccurif
youoperatethemachinewithamalfunction.
