SpringDiscWashers
1.Placeawrenchonthebladeboltandtorqueto45-55
ftlb(61-75N-m).
2.Withthewrenchstillonthebladebolt,holdthe
bladespindlestationaryandusingaragorthickly
paddedglove,trytorotatetheblade.Iftheblade
rotatesrelativetothespindleguardwithoutfurther
tighteningthebladebolt,thespringdiscwasherhas
beenattenedordamagedandtheboltandwasher
assemblymustbereplaced(Figure40).Referto
theRemovingtheBladesandInstallingtheBlades
section.
3.Oncethebladehasbeenremoved,inspectthespring
discwasher.Ifthewasherappearstobedamaged
(thewashersurfacehasbeenmarred)orattened,
theboltandwasherassemblymustbereplaced.
RemovingtheBlades
Thebladesmustbereplacedifasolidobjectishit,
ifthebladeisoutofbalance,orthebladeisbent.
Toensureoptimumperformanceandcontinued
safetyconformanceofthemachine,usegenuineToro
replacementblades.Replacementbladesmadebyother
manufacturersmayresultinanunsafemachine.
Holdthebladeendusingaragorthickly-paddedglove
(orplaceawrenchonthetopsheavenut).Removethe
bladeboltandwasherassembly,washer,andbladefrom
thespindleshaft(Figure40).
