Installing the Floppy Disk Drive
To install the T4900CT’s floppy disk drive, follow the steps below and refer to figures 4-32
and 4-33.
1. Place the FDD in the base assembly and, holding the FDD with your hand so it
doesn’t fall out, turn the base assembly over.
2. Secure the FDD with four M2.5x2.8 screws. Fasten the two inner screws first,
then the two outer screws. Tighten these screws to a torque of less than 2.2 kgf/
cm (figure 4-33).
3. Secure the tape and connect the FDD cable to the pressure plate connector
PJ304 on the lower system board (figure 4-32).
4. Install the base assembly, power supply board, upper system board, display assem-
bly, backup battery and microphone, status indicator panel, keyboard, top cover,
HDD, optional PCMCIA cards, optional memory card, and battery pack as de-
scribed in sections 4.12 back through 4.2.
