OIL PUMP
REMOVAL OF OIL PUMP
HINT: When repairing the oil pump, the oil pan and strainer
should be removed and cleaned.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF
BATTERY
CAUTION: Work must be started after approx. 20 se-
conds or longer from the time the ignition switch is
turned to the “LOCK” position and the negative (–) termi-
nal cable is disconnected from the battery.
2. REMOVE HOOD
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVERS
4. DRAIN ENGINE OIL (See page LU–6)
5. REMOVE SUSPENSION LOWER CROSSMEMBER
(See step 27 on page EM–65)
6. DISCONNECT FRONT EXHAUST PIPE
(See step 28 on page EM–66)
7. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING CENTER MEMBER
(See step 32 on page EM–66)
8. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR AND
BRACKET (See step 33 on page EM–66)
