Normal use, age, and wear on vehicle components can affect the safe operation and reliability of the vehicle. The rec-
ommended Inspection and maintenance procedures are crucial for safety, performance, reliability and maximum lon-
gevity of your vehicle.
A damaged vehicle, or a vehicle that is not functioning properly is dangerous and must not be operated until repairs
are made.
NOTICE: Read the following operational warnings before driving the vehicle:
Beforeexiting the vehicle, turn the key switch to the OFF position and remove the key
from the vehicle to prevent unauthorized use.
Drive the vehicle at appropriate speeds for the terrain andconditions. Be aware of any
environmental conditions that change the terrain andyourability to control the vehicle.
Do not drive on excessively steep hills. Evaluate the terrain beforedescending a hill.
Drive slowly anddeliberately. Use the brake to limit speed andmaintain control. Sudden
braking or turningcan cause a loss of vehiclecontrol.Drive straight downthe hill;do
not drive across the hill.
Operate in approved areas.
Keep both feet, legs,handsand arms inside vehicle at all times.
Avoiddriving on terrain that is too rough for the vehicle’s capabilitiesandyour driving
skills.
Beforedriving in the reversedirection,make sure the area behind the vehicle is clear.
Accelerate slowly and avoidmaking sharp turns.
Make sure the direction selector is in the correct position before pressing the accelera-
tor pedal.
Decrease speed before andduring turns.
Bring the vehicle to a complete stop beforemoving the direction selector.

NOTICE: Read the following maintenance information and warnings before servicing or repairing the vehicle:
Follow the procedures and comply with the safety information in this manual while performing vehicle service or main-
tenance.
Use the tools shown in the tool list and wear the specified safety equipment when performing vehicle service or main-
tenance.
Remove all jewelrybefore servicing the vehicle.
Do not allow looseclothing or hair to contactthe moving parts.
Do not touch hot objects.
The drive wheels must be lifted and supported on jack stands before performing any ser-
vice to the powertrain while the motor is in operation.
Whenservicing the vehicle, always wear eye protection. Becareful when working
aroundbatteries,using solvents, or compressed air.
Use insulated wrenchestodecrease the risk ofashort-circuit if a wrench contacts the
battery terminals. Ashort-circuit in a batterycan cause an explosion.
Toprevent the risk of batteryexplosion, keep all flammablematerials, open flames, or
sparksaway from the batteries.
Hydrogen gas is produced as batteriesarecharged. Charge batteries only in well-venti-
lated areas.
Maintain constant awareness that some components areheavy, spring loaded, corro-
sive, explosive, can causehigh amperage, or get extremelyhot. Battery acid and hydro-
gen gas can causebodily injury. Keep your hands, face, feetandbody away from any
areathat can expose them to injury if an unexpected situation occurs.
