16.4 Wire rope
Inspect the wire rope on its entire length in order to detect damage such as loop formation, or wire rope that is
crushed, kinked, torn over sharp edges, broken or cut wires etc. (figure 16). Note the location and concentration
of broken wires. Replace the wire rope if more than 6 wires are broken in one lay, or more than 3 wires are
broken in one strand in one lay (figure 17)

Check that the end stop is operating correctly and that it returns to the locked position by the action of its return
spring.
