Why is my Trane Thermostat not heating?
    • D
      Daniel BennettJul 30, 2025
If your Trane Thermostat is not heating, it could be due to several reasons: * There may be no power to the thermostat. Ensure that the setpoint is above room temperature. * The circuit breaker may be tripped. Reset the circuit breaker. * A fuse may be blown. Replace the fuse. * The system switch at the equipment may be in the Off position. Set it to the On position. * The system selection may not be set to Heat. Set the system selection to Heat. Also, allow five minutes for the system to respond, as the thermostat may display 'Wait'. If 24 Vac is present, proceed with troubleshooting.

What to do if the system on indicator is lit on my Trane DELUXE programable XT302C Thermostat, but no air is coming from the registers?
    • B
      Brenda LambAug 14, 2025
If the system on indicator (flame for heat, snowflake for cool) is lit on your Trane Thermostat, but no warm or cool air is coming from the registers, it may be because the heating/cooling equipment turns on the fan only when the equipment has reached the setpoint. Wait a minute after seeing the flame or snowflake and then check the registers.

If you cannot change the temperature setting on your Trane Thermostat, it may be because the upper or lower temperature limits have been reached. Check that the temperature setpoints are within the following ranges: Heating: 55 to 85°F (13 to 29°C); Cooling: 65 to 99°F (18 to 37°C).
