Why is my Trane Pivot BAYSTAT814 Thermostat heat pump not turning on?

  The heat pump might not be turning on because the outdoor temperature is below the compressor lockout temperature setting. If desired, you can adjust the compressor lockout temperature setting. Also, check if the system mode is set to Emergency Heat. The outdoor unit may require service, so check/repair the outdoor temperature sensor or wiring.

  Try resetting the Pivot thermostat by removing it from the sub-base, waiting 10 seconds, and then replacing it. Follow the on-screen calibration instructions when the Pivot thermostat reboots. This can help if the screen is out of calibration or there's an internal thermostat fault.
