Why Troy-Bilt Storm Tracker 1028 Snow Blower engine fails to start?
    • A
      Angela NguyenAug 10, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Snow Blower's engine won't start, possible causes include an empty or stale fuel tank (fuel becomes stale after thirty days), a blocked fuel line, the choke not being in the ON position, a faulty spark plug, the safety key not fully inserted into the ignition switch, a disconnected spark plug wire, improper use of the primer button (refer to the engine manual), or a closed fuel shut-off valve (if equipped). To resolve this, fill the tank with fresh gasoline, clean the fuel line, move the choke to the ON position, clean/adjust/replace the spark plug, fully insert the safety key, connect the spark plug wire, refer to the engine manual for primer button usage, and open the fuel shut-off valve if equipped.

    • E
      Ebony ScottAug 20, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Snow Blower fails to discharge snow, the chute assembly might be clogged, a shear pin may be sheared, a foreign object could be lodged in the auger, the auger control cable might need adjustment, the auger belt could be loose or damaged or shear pins may be sheared. Stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and clean the chute and inside of the auger housing with a clean-out tool or stick. Replace any sheared shear pins. If there's a foreign object, stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and remove the object with a clean-out tool or stick. Adjust the auger control cable. Refer to the Making Adjustments Section. Refer to Service Section.
