Remove the interior assembly and reposition the interior knob. With the deadbolt latch retracted, verify that the tailpiece is vertical, or if extended to 2 3/8” to 2 3/4”, check the position of the cross and ensure that the latch is not locked.

  If the latch on your TRU-BOLT door lock is working backward, meaning it unlocks when the lock button is pushed or locks when the unlock button or code is entered, the direction switch may be set incorrectly. To resolve this, remove the interior assembly and move the switch to the opposite direction. Also, check that your switch is set in the correct position for either a left or right-handed door. Another solution is to rotate the interior knob and reinstall the interior assembly, then retest while holding the interior assembly in place.
