3 Safety instructions
3.1 General safety
Not following the rules in the operating instructions can
result in serious material damage and serious risk to the
health or life of persons
Read and closely observe the safety instructions to
prevent danger, material damage and injury
Observe local laws, regulations and standards for
the use and operation of the heater
3.2 In the event of a leak in the heater
or the exhaustgassystem
Switch off the appliance,
Open windows and doors,
Have an expert inspect the complete system
3.3 Guaranteeing a safe operating
environment
The appliance may be operated only with appropri-
ate Truma control panels and accessories and con-
trol panels approved by Truma
Make sure that the warm air ducts throughout
the vehicle, especially in storage areas, are not
squashed or damaged by cargo
Objects that are sensitive to heat (eg spray cans
or matches) and flammable materials / liquids may
not be stored in the same compartment as the ap-
pliance, since, under certain circumstances, higher
temperatures may occur
Do not store objects that are sensitive to heat or
flammable materials / liquids in direct contact with
the warm air ducts
Do not place open containers containing flammable
liquids / vapours or cloths soaked in flammable liq-
uids / vapours near the air intake Do not spray flam-
mable sprays into the air intake
Do not place objects such as plastic bags or ski
boots directly in front of the warm air outlets
Do not dry laundry directly in front of the warm air
outlets
Keep the area in front of the circulated air intake
and the warm air outlets free from flammable and
heat-sensitive materials Never block the warm air
outlets
To ensure clean combustion, always keep the wall
cowl clean (remove slush, ice, leaves etc)
When the appliance is running, the wall cowl must
not be blocked, for example, with a cover or insect
grille
Danger from hot surfaces and exhaust gases When
the appliance is running, do not touch the area
around the wall cowl and do not lean any objects
against the wall cowl or the vehicle
Do not operate the appliance where flammable va-
pours or dust can form, eg in the vicinity of a petrol
station, a fuel, coal, wood or grain storage facility or
similar
3.3.1 Handling exhaust gases
The exhaust gases of the heater can cause poisoning in
enclosed spaces (eg a garage, workshop, ferry) If the
vehicle is parked in closed rooms:
Switch the heater off on the control panel
Disable the time switch / timer function
Do not switch the heater on remotely via the app
3.4 Duties of the user / vehicle owner
The user is responsible for the water and its quality
in the water container
The vehicle owner is responsible for correct opera-
tion of the appliance
A yellow warning sticker should be placed in the
vehicle where it is visible to all users (eg on a ward-
robe door) If this is not the case, missing stickers
can be requested from Truma
The heater must comply with the regulations of the
country in which it is used National rules and regu-
lations must be obeyed
The exhaust system must be inspected regularly, but
at least every 2 years
If the heater is not being used, always drain off the
water if there is a risk of frost No warranty or guar-
antee claims and no liability will be accepted for
frost damage
3.5 Safe operation
During heater operation, do not allow the fuel dis-
play in the fuel tank to drop to the “low fuel” mark
If the vehicle fuel tank runs empty, the opening of
the fuel removal duct is roughly at the same height
as the surface of the fuel In this state, particularly
when the fuel in the vehicle fuel tank is slopping
around due to vehicle movement, a large amount of
air is sucked in This leads to an irregular supply of
fuel to the heater In this condition the appliance’s
burner cannot maintain clean combustion (occur-
rence of smoke and smells)
Do not close or cover forced ventilation in the vehi-
cle When the appliance is started up, there may be
some smoke and/or smell due to dust or dirt Espe-
cially if it has not been used for a long time
The appliance may be used by children over 14 years
old, and by people with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowl-
edge if they are supervised or have been instructed
in the safe use of the appliance and the resulting
hazards Children must not be allowed to play with
the appliance
