6 Faults
6.1 Troubleshooting guide for heater
Possible causes of faults and instructions for trouble-
shooting are described in the operating instructions of
the installed control panel�
Heater cannot be switched on.
If the window is equipped with an automatic switch-
off device, close the window
6.2 Troubleshooting guide for water
supply
For possible causes of malfunctions and a trouble-
shooting guide – see “Troubleshooting guide for water
supply”�
Water taking an extremely long time to heat up.
Possible cause: Water container furred�
Descale water system (see maintenance)�
Water running away – water container cannot be
filled.
Possible cause: Safety / drain valve open�
Close safety / drain valve�
Water container cannot be emptied, although the
safety / drain valve is open.
Possible cause: Safety / drain valve drainage socket
blocked�
Check opening for dirt (slush, ice, leaves etc�) and
remove if necessary
Possible cause: Water pipe frozen�
Thaw water pipe�
Water dripping / flowing from the drainage socket
of the safety / drain valve.
Possible cause: Water pressure too high�
Check pump pressure (max� 2�8 bar)�
If the system is connected to a central water supply
(town water), install a pressure reducer to prevent
pressures higher than 2�8 bar in the water container
After the heater has been switched off, the
FrostControl opens.
Possible cause: At temperatures below approx� 3 °C the
FrostControl opens automatically
Switch the heater on� If the heater is not in opera-
tion, the FrostControl can be closed again only when
the temperature is about 7 °C or higher
Use heating element for FrostControl�
The FrostControl can no longer be closed.
Possible cause: Temperature at the FrostControl is be-
low approx� 7 °C�
Switch the heater on� If the heater is not in opera-
tion, the FrostControl can be closed again only when
the temperature is about 7 °C or higher
Possible cause: Rotary switch not set to “Operation”�
Turn the rotary switch of the FrostControl to “Opera-
tion”, then press the pushbutton until it engages�
Possible cause: FrostControl faulty
Replace FrostControl�
6.3 Troubleshooting guide for fuel
supply
Large amounts of smoke at the wall cowl for more
than 1 minute after the appliance is started.
Possible cause: Fault in the fuel supply, improper instal-
lation, combustion air infeed restricted�
Fire hazard� Stop using the appliance�
Contact customer service�
If these measures do not rectify the malfunction,
contact Truma Service.
