    • S
      Shane PetersonJul 26, 2025
There are several reasons why the motors on your TYPHOON Q500 Quadcopter might not start: * The LED may be indicating a ‘Compass error’; see the troubleshooting steps for ‘compass error’. * The Q500 might be in a No Fly Zone. Move at least 4 miles away from the no fly zone. Remember that most major airports are no fly zone areas. * The Q500 could be above 8,000 feet above MSL. Move the Q500 below 8,000 feet above MSL. * The motor start up procedure may be incorrect. Review the Motor Starting/Stopping procedure in the manual. * The Q500 may be too close to a metal object or metal surface. Move the Q500 away from large metal objects or surfaces.

      Brittany MartinJul 30, 2025
If your TYPHOON Q500 Quadcopter GPS will not lock, it could be due to several reasons: * Overcast, thick clouds may be blocking GPS reception. Wait for lighter cloud cover or disable GPS. * Solar flares may be in progress. Wait for the disturbance to subside or disable GPS. * The Q500 may be indoors. Move the Q500 outside or disable GPS. * Objects may be blocking 100 degrees of clear view of the sky. Disable GPS. * The Q500 GPS may have reduced precision, indicating that the GPS module is possibly damaged. * The compass may have been exposed to a magnet. Move the Q500 away from the magnetic source. If the problem persists, calibrate the compass.

Why does my TYPHOON Quadcopter Q500 won’t hold position in hover?
    • C
      Christine MerrittAug 4, 2025
If your TYPHOON Q500 Quadcopter won’t hold its position while hovering, it could be due to: 1. A weak GPS signal. Confirm that the flying area has 100 degrees of clear view of the sky. 2. The U.S. Government has raised the threat level. Wait for the threat level to be reduced before flying. 3. High vibration levels, indicated by shaky landing gear. Check to ensure propellers are not bent, nicked, or damaged in any way. Replace damaged propellers.
