2.7 Instrument Panel, Functional Description
Refer to Figure 2-4. The instrument panel group consists of a receiver pressure gauge,
an hour meter, a compressor discharge temperature gauge and reset button.
The air pressure gauge continually monitors the sump pressure at various load
and\or unload conditions.
The hour meter indicates the cumulative hours of compressor operation which is
useful for planning and logging service operations.
The compressor discharge temperature gauge monitors the temperature of the
air/fluid mixture leaving the compressor unit. The normal reading should be
approximately 180°F to 210°F.
The reset button cancels and/or resets over-pressure/over-temperature shut-down
condition.
WARNING: Never force the reset button back into position, or hinder it in any
way, in order to allow for machine operation. A tripped reset button indicates a
problem that should be addressed and resolved before operation can continue.
NOTE: When re-starting the compressor, make sure receiver tank pressure has blown
down to 10 psig can put extra load on the hydraulic system.
