4. PREPARE THE HOOD
NOTE: If the bottom of the cupboard is recessed, attach wood strips (not included), as shown below, in order to properly
install the range hood (A) or charcoal filter unit (if need be) to the cabinet (B). The wood strips must be as thick as
recess.
Remove both filters from the hood. Disassemble the adaptor/damper (A) from the hood.
NOTE: Depending on the hood model, the adapter/damper can be located on top of the hood (for double blower hoods) or
inside the hood (for single blower hoods). In this last case, the bottom panel (B) must be removed to access the
adapter/damper. Refer to figures below.

Cut-out the openings for duct (A) and power cable (B), in cabinet or wall, according to the direction of discharge chosen.

If it is not done yet, remove the bottom panel from the hood and set aside. Punch out the appropriate electrical knock-out hole.
CAUTION
Never use a hammer and a screwdriver to
punch out the vertical or horizontal
discharge knock-out, because this will
damage the hood internal parts.
