1. General Introduction
This manual shows you how to set up an application for high frequency dispensing with an MDV 3252-FH. The
MDV 3252-FH is best suited for high frequency applications, since it allows increased air cooling and is additionally
equipped with an optional frame heater.
CAUTION! (High temperatures)
The heaters can reach temperatures of up to 180 °C. For such high temperatures, there is a danger of
severe burns and injuries. Use heat resistant gloves.
This manual starts with the necessary parts and tools; followed by an explanation of how to mount the valve. The
manual describes how to perform the adjust and adds information about cleaning the system afterwards. Finally,
a selection of recommended further reading material is listed.
Beware that some pictures might differ slightly from the actual product.
For best results the dead volume of the media carrying channels should be as small as possible and be made of
thermally similar materials to avoid temperature fluctuations. When using the frame heater, you should set the
target temperature slightly above the temperature of the nozzle heater (if you do not use a nozzle heater, set the
temperature close to the temperature of your cooling system). All parts are chosen so that they have a good heat
conductance, but are also sufficiently heat resistant. To avoid dispensing problems or leakage it is also important
to use a valve with air-cooling.
For the heaters and the air cooling you will need an external controller. You can use the multifunctional controller
MFC 3000 (order no. 1014981, see picture below) and use it to control both heaters as well as the FCV-HF.
