Using them as an insert
The OUT/INSERT jack

can also be used to insert external effects processors, such as lters or
delays, into that channel. To do so, use a so-called insert cable:

Insert cable
- Connect the TRS connector to the OUT/INSERT

of the respective instrument channel
- Connect the send connector to the input of the effects processor.
- Connect the return connector (often color-coded in red) to the output of the effects processor
