Overview

This document describes the S Electric Tab-Tension Floor Screen, a projection screen designed for home and commercial use. It emphasizes safety, proper installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Function Description

The S Electric Tab-Tension Floor Screen is an electric projection screen that rises from a floor-standing housing. It features a tab-tensioning system to ensure a flat and smooth viewing surface, free from wrinkles or waves. The screen is designed to be used with a projector, providing a dedicated display area for various media. It offers both manual and remote control options for raising and lowering the screen, providing flexibility in operation. The screen's design incorporates a black border that frames the projected area, enhancing contrast and immersion.

Usage Features

The screen offers several user-friendly features:

  • Flexible Installation: The screen can be installed on the ground or mounted on a wall using optional wall brackets. Ground installation is recommended for stability, with provisions for fixing the base to the floor using screws. Wall installation requires careful marking and securing of brackets to ensure the screen is level and stable.
  • Dual Control Options: Users can operate the screen using a manual switch located on the left side of the screen housing or through remote controls. Two types of remote controls are provided:
    • RF Wireless Remote Control: This remote can control the screen without needing to be aimed directly at the IR receiver, offering greater convenience, especially when the screen is hidden or installed in a slot.
    • IR Remote Control: This remote requires direct line-of-sight with the IR receiver head, which needs to be connected to the screen.
  • Adjustable Height Limit: The screen's fixed height can be adjusted to suit specific projection needs. The manual provides detailed instructions on how to lower or raise the screen's stopping point using a debugging rod and the remote control. This allows users to customize the screen's display area to match their projector's output and preferred viewing height.
  • Safety Mechanisms: The screen is equipped with a temperature control sensor and an overheating protection mechanism for the tubular motor. If the screen runs continuously for an extended period (e.g., one and a half minutes), the motor will rest for over 30 minutes to prevent overheating and damage. This ensures the longevity of the motor and safe operation.
  • Power-Off Memory: When the screen is fully raised, users can turn off the power switch and unplug the power cord for long-term viewing. The screen will remain open and will not close due to power loss, resuming operation once power is reconnected and the switch is turned on.
  • Clear Status Indicators: A pilot lamp on the screen housing provides visual feedback on the screen's working status. A red light indicates normal operation, while flashing lights may signal code matching or an abnormal situation, prompting users to contact support.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the screen's performance and lifespan:

  • Cleaning: The screen surface can be cleaned with soft water and a clean cotton cloth or a soft dust brush to remove dust particles. It is important to avoid persistent or vigorous cleaning to prevent scratches.
  • Wrinkle Management: Minor wrinkles on the screen surface, especially due to humidity, are considered normal. These wrinkles typically disappear under normal temperature conditions or can be relieved by gentle heating with a hair dryer.
  • Handling Precautions: Users are advised against scribbling on the screen, touching it directly with hands or sharp objects, or using harsh cleaning agents like acetone, benzene, or alcohol, as these can cause permanent damage.
  • Environmental Considerations: The screen is designed for indoor use and is not waterproof. It should not be placed in direct sunlight, rain, or humid environments. It should also be kept away from fireplaces, high-temperature objects, strong magnetic fields, and areas with poor ventilation.
  • Power Management: Always disconnect the power line during thunderstorms or when the product is not in use for extended periods to prevent damage from lightning or power surges. Before turning off the screen, ensure no sundries are in the cover to prevent mechanical damage.
  • Motor Protection: Adhere to the recommended operating times for the motor (avoid continuous up/down movement for more than 3 minutes) to prevent triggering the overheating protection mechanism. Allow sufficient cooling time (20-30 minutes, or up to 2 hours) if the motor stops due to overheating.
  • Professional Repair: The internal components of the screen contain dangerous high voltages. Users are strictly prohibited from disassembling the product. Any repairs must be performed by trained and authorized service personnel.
  • Battery Safety: The remote control uses coin/button cell batteries. Users are warned about the severe risks of swallowing these batteries and are advised to keep them away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, the product should not be used, and immediate medical attention should be sought if a battery is suspected to have been swallowed.
  • Packaging Retention: It is recommended to save the original packaging for potential future returns or replacements, especially given the product's special packaging size.
