– Install timing housing and tighten bolts -arrows-. Specified tor‐
que ⇒ page 79 .
– Install camshaft adjuster with timing chain for camshaft drive
⇒ page 105 .
– Clean sealing surface on cover.
– If damaged, renew the seal in the cover ⇒ page 78 .
– Apply a thin bead of sealant - D 176 501 A1- to clean sealing
surface of cover.
– Install cover, start all securing bolts -arrows- and tighten light‐
ly.
– Then tighten all securing bolts. Specified torque ⇒ page 58 .
– Install vacuum pump ⇒ page 70 .
– Install cylinder head cover ⇒ page 68 .
– Install upper part of intake manifold ⇒ page 181 .
Further assembly is basically a reverse of the dismantling se‐
quence.
