Wheelchair lift
Wheelchair lift
The bus is equipped with a wheelchair
lift. It has a rated load capacity of 350 kg
(766 lb).
The lift is operated using a hand held
control. Using the buttons, the lift is
deployed from and stowed in its storage
compartment.
The lift can accommodate a wheelchair
and a carer. During operation, the lift
platform remains parallel to the bus floor.
Reflective hazard stripes are located on
the side edges of the platform, and
warning lights that come on during lift
operation.
In the event of power loss, the lift can be
operated manually. Equipment and tools
required for manual operation are
located in the luggage compartment,
near the lift.
Before operating the lift, study the safety
precautions for safe use.
Operating instructions
Operate the lift only when the bus is
safely parked on level ground.
To allow movement of the lift, leave 5
m free space. Make sure that the
extended platform is not a threat to
passengers or other road users.
The bus must be within 65 cm (26 in)
of the curb. The rear section of the
platform must overlap the curb with a
minimum of 20 cm (8 in).
Power switch
Turn on the lift power switch on the
dashboard.
Interlock system
Ensure that the interlock system is
activated. The interlock system prevents
the lift from being operated if it is unsafe
to do so.
The button in use must be held
depressed until the motion is completed.
Movement of the platform can be halted
at any time by releasing the button.

CAUTION
Before attempting to raise or lower the
platform, verify that the two maintenance
safety pins are not inserted into the
intermediate frame and platform. Severe
damage can occur if the pins are inserted.
