Generator
Engine
Malfunction Cause Remedy
No voltage
(or unstable)
Cable damage or contact prob-
lem
Have it repaired
Short circuit in the stator coil Have coil replaced
Abnormal noises
(metallic noises or similar)
Shaft bearing defective Have bearing replaced
Contact between rotor and sta-
tor
Have it repaired
Vibrations Unstable position Move machine to a stable posi-
tion
Shaft bearing defective Have bearing replaced
Malfunction Cause Remedy
Engine does not start Fuel tank empty Top off with fuel
Fuel tap closed Open the fuel tap
Engine switch set to "OFF". Set the engine switch to "ON"
Motor oil level "too low"
because the machine is lean-
ing (automatic oil shut off)
Position the machine horizon-
tally
Motor oil level too low (auto-
matic oil shut off)
Top off with engine oil
Spark plug Clean, set electrode gap, or
replace
Engine does not turn Engine damage Repair engine or have it
replaced
Engine not running smoothly Air filter dirty Clean air filter
Fuel filter dirty Clean fuel filter
Spark plug Clean, set electrode gap, or
replace
