7.4 Maintenance accesses
Opening the engine cover
Risk of injury due to hot and moving engine parts!
Hot and moving engine parts can cause injury.
► Do not open the engine cover if the engine is running.
► Let the engine cool down.
► Wear protective equipment.
Engine damage due to loose objects in the engine
compartment.
► Remove all tools and objects from the engine
compartment before closing the engine cover.
Open the engine cover with the handle (Fig. 137). The
handle is lockable.
The engine cover can be removed completely for
maintenance. To do this, open the engine hood, release
the retaining rope and pull the engine hood out of the
hinges.
