REPAIR
Repair
the
Starter
Rope
if
the
rope
breaks
next
to
the
puiiey.
Repiace
the
Starter
Rope
if
the
rope
breaks
more
than
2-3
inches
away
from
the
puiiey
since
the
rope
wili
be
too
short
to
repair
prop-
eriy.
WARNING!
Aiways
wear
eye
protection
when
servicing
the
starter
rope.
The
recoii
spring,
located
beneath
the
puiiey,
is
under
tension,
if
the
spring
should
pop
out,
serious
personal
injury
could
result.
To
repair
or
repiace:
1.
Drain
all
fuel
from
tank.
2.
Separate
fuel
line
at
fuel
line
connector.
3.
Remove
two
(2)
screws
and
two
(2)
washers
from
fuel
tank.

Separate

fan
housing.

Remove
the
five
(5)
screws
from
fan
housing.

shroud

Slide
high
tension
lead
grommet
from
slot

fan
housing.

Separate
the
fan
housing
completely
from
the
shroud.

Remove
screw
and
pulley
very
carefully.
The
recoil
spring
which
lies
beneath
the
puiiey
must
stay
in
the
housing,
flat
against
the
bot
tom.
if
the
spring
is
disturbed,
it
wili
require
considerable
time
and
effort
to
reinstall.
Twist
the
pulley
gently
clockwise
as
you
pull
up
to
release
the
spring.
10.
Insert
rope
through
fan
housing.
11.
Snake
rope
Inside
pulley
and
up
through
pulley
hole
to
the
outside.

Tie
a
knot
In
the
rope
and
burn
the
end
of
the
rope
to
prevent
the
knot
from
slipping.
13.
Pull
the
knot
tight
against
the
pulley
and
re
wind
rope
counterclockwise
around
the
pulley.
14.
Replace
the
pulley
In
the
housing.
Be
sure
the
pulley
Is
all
the
way
down
and
the
spring
Is
secured.
Replace
screw
and
tighten.

housing

set

rope

the
pulley
slot.

the
rope
taut
and
make
three
complete
turns
around
the
pul

Hold
the
pulley
to
retain
tension.

handle

the
full
extent
of
the
rope,
and
allow
the
rope

slowly
wind

the

Reverse
procedure
for
re-assembly
of
fan
housing
to
shroud.

Be
sure
to
guide
Choke
Knob
through
the
hole
In
the
fan
housing
during
re-assembly.
