Why is my Whynter ARC-14SH Air Conditioner running but not cooling?

  If your Whynter Air Conditioner turns on, but the compressor doesn't (the fan runs, but it's not cooling), it could be due to several reasons. The room temperature might be outside the unit's operational range of 64°F to 95°F. Ensure the Cooling mode is selected by pressing the MODE button until the COOL light appears. Allow the compressor 3 minutes to start after selecting Cooling mode. Also, the set temperature might be too high; try setting it lower, ideally at least 5°F below the ambient temperature. Lastly, if the internal water reservoir is full, drain it manually or run the fan-only mode to exhaust the water.

  There are several reasons why your Whynter Air Conditioner might not be turning on. First, check for a power outage or tripped breaker and restore power. If the power supply voltage is too low, move the unit to a circuit with the correct voltage. Also, the L.C.D.I. power plug might be tripped; in that case, press the Reset button on the plug. If the internal water reservoir is full, drain the water. For a damaged power cord, contact Whynter Service Department.

  If your Whynter Air Conditioner turns on but isn't cooling, ensure that the Cooling mode is activated by pressing the MODE button until the COOL light appears. Allow the compressor 3 minutes to start after selecting Cooling mode. Also, make sure the set temperature isn't too high; it's best to set it at least 5°F lower than the room temperature. Check if the internal water reservoir is full and drain it.

Ensure that the air intake and exhaust aren't blocked, keeping at least 20" of clearance from the intake and shortening the exhaust hose. Check that the unit is in cooling mode, not DRY or FAN mode, and that the fan speed is set appropriately.
