What to do if my Whynter ARC-12S Air Conditioner isn't cooling the room enough?
    • K
      Kenneth SmithJul 26, 2025
If your Whynter Air Conditioner has been running for a while, but the room isn't cold enough, several factors could be at play. Windows or doors might be open, there might be too many people in the room, direct sunlight could be entering the room, the room might be a kitchen or contain heat-producing appliances, there could be a server in the room, or the room might simply be too large for the unit. Close all windows and doors, consider additional cooling or another air conditioner, and close curtains or blinds to minimize direct sunlight.

How to improve cold airflow from my Whynter ARC-12S?
    • D
      Deborah MooreJul 31, 2025
If the air coming out of your Whynter Air Conditioner isn't very cold or the airflow is weak, check the following: the filters may be dirty or obstructed, the air intake or exhaust may be blocked, the unit may be set to DRY or FAN mode, or the fan speed may be set too low. Clean the air filters and ensure there's at least 20" of clearance from the air intake. Shorten the exhaust hose as much as possible. Switch the unit to Cooling mode and increase the fan speed.

What to do if my Whynter ARC-12S Air Conditioner does not turn on?
    • J
      jermaine22Aug 5, 2025
If your Whynter Air Conditioner doesn't turn on, several factors could be responsible. There might be a power failure or outage, a tripped switch, fuse, or breaker. The power supply voltage could be too low, the power cord might be damaged, the L.C.D.I. power plug could be tripped, or the internal water reservoir might be full. To resolve this, restore the power supply, flip the switch, change the fuse, or turn the breaker back on. Move the unit to a circuit with the correct voltage. Press the Reset button on the L.C.D.I. power plug and drain any water from the air conditioner. Note that too many appliances drawing power on one circuit may require moving some appliances to another circuit. Call for service if the power cord is damaged, as only authorized personnel should replace it.

Why does my Whynter ARC-12S turn on, but the compressor doesn't?
    • M
      Marissa BurchAug 10, 2025
If your Whynter air conditioner turns on but the compressor doesn't, it could be due to several reasons. The room temperature might be outside the unit's operational range (64°F to 95°F). The Cooling mode might not be activated. The compressor might be experiencing a time delay. The set temperature could be too high, or the internal water reservoir might be full. Ensure the Cooling mode is selected. Allow the compressor 3 minutes to activate after selecting Cooling mode. Set the air conditioner to a lower temperature, ideally at least 5°F below the ambient temperature. Drain the water either manually by removing the drain plug or by running the unit in fan-only mode.

Why is my Whynter Air Conditioner so noisy?
    • N
      navarrostevenAug 15, 2025
If your Whynter Air Conditioner is very noisy, it might not be level or the surface underneath it might be uneven. Low power voltage can also contribute to noise. Ensure the unit is on a hard, level, and stable surface. Move it to a location with a level and hard floor. Also, ensure the wall outlet supports the air conditioner's power consumption and avoid using an extension cord.

Why is my Whynter ARC-12S leaking water?
    • J
      Jacqueline LeeAug 19, 2025
If your Whynter Air Conditioner is leaking water, it may be tilted or not leveled, or the water tank could be full. Ensure the unit is level. Drain water from the drain plug at the back of the air conditioner.
