Why is my Workzone Security Sensors not detecting electrical wiring?
    • L
      Larry WashingtonAug 3, 2025
If you suspect electrical wiring is present but your Workzone Security Sensors aren't detecting it, it could be due to several reasons. The wiring might be deeper than 2 inches (51mm), shielded by a conduit, behind a metallic covering, or shear plywood. Ensure the electrics are on during scanning. If AC voltage is not detected, try using Metal mode to scan for the metal components of the wiring.

Why does the area of detected AC power appear larger than the actual wiring with Workzone Security Sensors?
    • L
      leekyleAug 9, 2025
If your Workzone Security Sensor detects an area of AC power that appears larger than the actual wiring, it's because AC power can spread laterally as much as 12 inches (310mm) on either side on a drywall surface. Repeat the second pass process to pinpoint the exact source. Consult page 13 for detailed instructions on this process.

What to do if Workzone Security Sensors are detecting other objects while in stud mode?
    • T
      Teresa WeissAug 15, 2025
If your Workzone Security Sensor is detecting other objects while in stud mode, it's possible that electrical wiring, plastic, or metal pipes are touching the back of the scanned surface. Also, double and triple studs are often found around doors and windows. To address this, scan the area in Metal mode and AC Power mode to check for these elements. Look for other studs spaced on either side. A typical stud reading is around 1½ inches (38.1mm); anything significantly larger or smaller away from a door or window frame is unlikely to be a stud. Scan for edges to help determine the actual stud location.

Why does the area of detected metal appear larger than actual size on Workzone Security Sensors?
    • J
      Jason WallaceAug 21, 2025
If the area of detected metal appears larger than its actual size when using your Workzone Security Sensor, it's likely due to the metal's density affecting the reading. To locate the object more precisely, repeat the second pass process. Refer to page 12 for detailed instructions.

How to fix Workzone Security Sensors when it is not turning on?
    • C

If your Workzone Security Sensor is not turning on, the most likely cause is a flat battery. Replacing the battery should resolve this issue.
