  First, inspect the cable connections to ensure they are secure. Then, check if the scanner’s status light is on; if not, turn on the scanner’s power and try plugging it directly into a wall outlet. If issues persist, restart both your computer and the scanner. Also, if you’re using a USB hub, connect the scanner’s USB cable directly to the back of the computer. The recommended USB cable length is 6’ or less. Finally, ensure that Xerox[®] DocuMate[®] 152i is selected as the scanner in your scanning software.

  A loose cable may be the reason. Check that the scanner’s cables are correctly attached to the computer. Using a USB cable longer than 6’ may cause connection issues. The recommended USB cable length is 6’ or less. If the scanner still doesn’t connect, reboot the computer.

  Paper fed into the ADF at an angle can cause the feed mechanism to jam. Smooth and straighten the paper before scanning, and adjust the guides to the paper size. Also, excessive dust on the roller can cause issues feeding paper. Try cleaning the roller with a soft cloth dampened with Isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
