Radio operaon
Memory System
This radio has 500 memory locaons, 100 for each band, organized into 10 pages
with 10 memory locaons each. A memory locaon stores the staon frequency
along with the stereo seng for FM and the bandwidth for LW/MW/SW.
Select the desired band (MW, LW, FM, SW and AIR) rst. Then to save or retrieve a
staon in memory, rst establish the current memory page by pressing the PAGE
buon and then press the page number buon (0-9).
Once a page is selected, a frequency is stored to a memory locaon within the page
by long-pressing the posion number buon (0-9). To recall a saved staon, just
press the number buon (0-9) of the memory posion within the current page.
Auto Tune Storage (ATS)
This radio has the capability to scan the bands and automacally store staons into
memory. It loads them sequenally by page, and by posion within the page, over-
wring any previously stored staons. ATS is invoked by rst selecng the band and
then with a long press of the band buon, FM, LW/MW, SW or AIR. ATS stores rela-
vely stronger staons, and may skip some that are audible. Also, parcularly on
shortwave, the signal strength may fade in and out, causing the staon to be
skipped. For AIR trac, transmissions are oen short and may not be acve when
the radio scans a parcular frequency.
Also note that for shortwave, the radio only scans within the internaonal broad-
cast frequencies, not amateur radio or commercial bands. Refer to the SW topic.
Antennas
Antennas capture radio signals that are processed by the radio. This radio has 3
antenna opons:
• Internal ferrite bar antenna used for LW/MW
• A 25.5” telescopic whip antenna for SW/FM/AIR
• A 3.5mm jack to connect an external antenna of your choice for SW, .FM, AIR
Cauon: Ensure that an external antenna is clear from power lines.
