PRIOR TO START-UP
PRIMING THE PUMP
Step 1: Inspect Connections
• Check all hose and pipe connections to ensure they are tight and secure.
Step 2: Check O-Rings
• Make sure the O-rings on the strainer basket lid and other connections are in good condition and
properly seated.
Step 3: Ensure Valve Positions
• Verify that all valves are in the correct positions for normal operation.
Step 4: Verify Electrical Connections
• Ensure that the pump is properly plugged in or wired to the electrical supply.
Step 1: Fill the Strainer Basket
• Open the strainer basket lid and fill the basket with water until it is full.
Step 2: Secure the Lid
• Close and securely fasten the strainer basket lid to ensure a good seal.
Step 3: Open the Air Release Valve
• Open the air release valve on the pool filter to allow air to escape during priming.
Step 4: Turn On the Pump
• Turn on the power to the pump. The pump should begin to draw water and expel air from the
system.
Step 5: Monitor for Proper Operation
• Observe the pump to ensure it is pulling water efficiently. You should see a steady stream of
water flowing through the system.
Step 6: Close the Air Release Valve
• Once water is flowing steadily and all air has been expelled, close the air release valve.
Step 7: Check for Leaks
• Inspect all connections and fittings for any signs of leaks. Tighten as necessary.
