4) Place the gear shift lever in Neutral
position (except for 2-hp).
NOTE:

The start-in-gear protection device per-
mits the engine to be started only when it
is in Neutral.
5) Place the throttle control lever/grip in
the “START” position.
After the engine starts, return the
throttle to the fully closed position.
