Why does my Yamaha RX-V3900 say 'No Device' when a USB is plugged in?
    • S
      Stacy FloresSep 7, 2025
If “No Device” is displayed even when a USB device is connected to your Yamaha Receiver, the unit may have recognized the USB storage device as an illegal device. Try turning the unit off and then on again. Also, ensure that music files and directories are placed in the FAT area of the USB device.

If you're experiencing no sound from your Yamaha Receiver, try these steps: First, ensure that all input and output cables are correctly connected and not defective. Make sure the audio input jack select is set to “AUTO”. If it's set to “ANALOG”, but your input source outputs digital audio, switch it to “COAX/OPT”. Select the appropriate input source using the input selector. Also, check that the volume isn't turned down or muted. figueroablakeSep 23, 2025
If you're not getting a picture from your Yamaha Receiver, and your video monitor is connected to one of the analog video output jacks, but the picture is input at different types of video jacks, set “Analog ? Analog” to “Conversion” or connect your source components in the same way as you connect your video monitor to the unit. If you're using 1080p-resolution analog video signals, ensure they are connected to the COMPONENT VIDEO MONITOR OUT jacks. If the unit outputs video signals not supported by the video monitor connected to the HDMI OUT jack, set “Analog ? Analog” to “Conversion” or connect your source components in the same way as you connect your video monitor to this unit.

If you're not getting a picture from your Yamaha Receiver, ensure your video monitor is connected to the HDMI OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO MONITOR OUT jacks, especially if it's connected to an analog video output. If using 1080p-resolution analog video signals, these are only output at the COMPONENT VIDEO MONITOR OUT jacks. You may need to set “Analog ? Analog” to “Conversion” or connect your source components in the same way as you connect your video monitor to this unit. Also, ensure the unit outputs video signals supported by the video monitor connected to the HDMI OUT jack.
